Volunteer at Rising Hope

“As a student volunteer, I feel as though my contributions are appreciated, producing this booklet enabled me to transfer classroom skills into the workplace.” -Liz

“Ultimately, giving back is not about me – its about blessing others with an open heart.” -Stephen

No matter your interest, there is a place for you at Rising Hope. Whether you are looking to get involved as a server, administrator or even do minor food preparation, you can help every Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 to 2:00. Highly dependable volunteers with a background in food service are also needed to coordinate and prepare meals once a month on Fridays.

Volunteer shop floor assistants are needed to fold and organize clothing. Additional tasks include greeting constituents and receiving and sorting donated household goods. In the midst of a crisis, you can provide families with basic necessities. If you already work full time but would still like to help, we need volunteers on Thursday evenings.

There is always work that needs to be done in the office. As a volunteer office assistant you will be responsible for helping the entire organization run efficiently and effectively. Your duties may include secretarial services such as organizing files, customer service, data entry and reception work.

An unfamiliar language prevents some constituents from getting the help they need. As a foreign language speaker, you can assist someone by lessening this burden. Spanish translators are especially needed.

We are also looking for a skilled handyman to do basic repairs, cleaning and overall maintenance work. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you be a friend and mentor to someone who is working to restore their livelihood? At Rising Hope, we not only cater to people’s personal and spiritual needs, we enable them to rebuild their own lives. Here you can offer help with resume services, job seeking skills and housing resources.

We also provide clients with sanitary items such as deodorant and toothpaste to ensure our clients have the best opportunities for success. Through the Empowerment Center you can give someone the tools and confidence they need to better themselves. We are especially looking for those with computer skills.

Just as hundreds of families rely on our ministries, we rely on our faithful volunteers for assistance. You can help with the food pantry by packing and sorting food donations including bread, locally grown produce and other essential items. Each week customers can collect up to thirty pounds of food, enabling many to feed their families. Moreover, you can help us prepare and deliver bags for immobile families, many with special dietary concerns.
Our children represent the continual promise of renewal at Rising Hope. They bring us inspiration and constant joy. Every day, these children face incredible obstacles and yet they come to us in trust. All they ask in return is unconditional love, something you can help us to provide.

New volunteers are especially needed during the holidays to prepare Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, organize and set up our Christmas Shoppe and Angel Gifts, and coordinate Easter activities.
